The detail

Apricot hedgehogs have light orange-tan quill bands, a pink nose and usually ruby eyes. It is a color variety of the African pygmy hedgehog, so an owner gets ordinary hedgehog care and the same health risks.

Origin
Bred from African hedgehogs
Best fit
Night owls, patient adults
Care load
3 out of 5 (Nightly wheel, steady heat)

What to weigh

Hedgehogs are shy, nocturnal and solitary, and handling takes steady daily effort. Color names vary between breeders, so a listed color is a description, not a guarantee.
