The detail

The albino tegu is an Argentine black and white tegu with a recessive gene that removes black pigment, leaving a pale animal with light eyes. It needs two copies to show, so a het carries the gene but looks normal.

Origin
Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and southern Brazil
Best fit
Experienced keepers with room and time

What to weigh

Recessive genetics mean het claims cannot be seen and need proof. Care and adult size are the same as any Argentine tegu.
