The detail
The Senegal chameleon is a small West African species that is often sold cheaply as a starter animal. Most are wild-caught imports that arrive stressed and carrying parasites, so it is a harder first chameleon than its price suggests.
- Housing
- Screen enclosure about 2×2×3 ft, live plants
What to weigh
Imports often decline within months from parasites and dehydration. A captive-bred veiled is usually the easier first chameleon.
