The detail
The panther chameleon is a Madagascar species prized for its colour, which varies by locality such as Ambilobe or Nosy Be. It is widely captive-bred, and a known locality line tells you roughly how a male will colour up as an adult.
- Housing
- Screen enclosure about 2×2×4 ft, live plants
What to weigh
Hatchlings are dull, so you are buying on the locality and parents rather than the colour you see. Like all chameleons they need a careful misting routine, and females can become egg-bound.
