The detail
One of the Belgian shepherd varieties, bred to herd and guard flocks, the Tervuren has a long fawn-to-mahogany coat with a black overlay. Intelligent, watchful and devoted, it excels in obedience and herding and needs an active, engaged owner.
What to weigh
Tervuren need hours of exercise and mental work, and bored dogs become anxious or destructive. They can be wary of strangers and sensitive to noise.
