The detail
Saanens come from Switzerland and are the largest dairy goat breed, all white or cream. They are known for high milk volume and a calm, gentle nature, often called the Holstein of the goat world.

- Gentle, placid
- Best fit
- High-volume home dairy
- Energy
- 3 out of 5 (Calm, steady)

What to weigh
Pale skin burns easily and they struggle in intense sun without shade. Butterfat is lower than Nubians or Nigerians, so the milk is lighter.
