The detail
A German giant bred in the town of Leonberg as a companion and farm dog, with a lion-like mane and a gentle, patient nature. Leonbergers are devoted family dogs, but they shed heavily, drool, and carry several inherited neurological risks.

What to weigh
Leonbergers shed constantly, drool and bring mud indoors. They live short lives, and giant size means costly food, medicine and care.
