The detail
Kinders are a dual-purpose goat developed in Washington state in 1985 from Nubian and Pygmy parents. They are mid-sized, give rich milk and put on meat well, which suits small homesteads wanting both from one herd.
- Purpose
- Dairy and meat
- Best fit
- Small homesteads
- Mature weight
- Does about 100–125 lb
- Temperament
- Friendly, calm

- 4 out of 5 (Hardy, easy keepers)

What to weigh
Kinders are less common, so registered stock can be hard to find. They breed year-round and kid multiples often, so plan for kid numbers and a separate buck pen.
