Buyer question
Is a Black Beauty good for beginners?
Usually not: our Animal Library rates the Black Beauty 2 out of 5 for beginners (demanding for a first pet).

The detail
Black beauty is a darker sugar glider with heavy, dark markings and a deep gray to near-black coat, built up by selective breeding rather than one simple gene. It is the same animal as a standard gray, with the same diet, companion and nighttime needs.
- Best fit
- Night owls who can keep a pair
- Handling
- 3 out of 5 (Bonds with time, may nip)
- Care load
- 5 out of 5 (Nightly fresh diet prep)
What to weigh
Depth of color varies and can change as a joey matures, so the look you pay attention to is not guaranteed. Care, noise and the 10-to-15-year commitment are the same as any glider.
