The detail
A naturally spotted, athletic breed descended from cats brought from Egypt to Europe and the US in the 1950s. Maus are fast, loyal and sensitive, devoted to their family and often shy or wary with strangers.
What to weigh
A Mau is sensitive to noise and change and can be shy with strangers. It needs daily active play, and the gene pool is small, so fewer breeders and longer waits.
