The detail
The normal African fat-tailed gecko is the wild-type form: brown and tan bands on a calm, ground-dwelling gecko from West Africa. It is slower and shyer than a leopard gecko, needs a humid hide, and is the base for every morph in the hobby.
- Housing
- 20 gal long, warm floor, humid hide
What to weigh
Fat-tails eat only live insects and need a humid hide to shed cleanly. They can live 15 to 20 years or more.
