The detail
The Teddy is a short-haired guinea pig with a dense, springy coat caused by a rex-type gene, so the fur stands up and feels plush. The coat needs only light brushing, which makes it a good first cavy for an owner who wants something different.
- Housing
- 7.5+ sq ft for a pair
What to weigh
The dense coat can hold dust and debris, and some Teddies are prone to dry skin and waxy ears. Otherwise care matches any short-haired guinea pig.
