The detail
Merauke blue-tongue skinks come from southern New Guinea and are among the longest blue-tongues, with a slender build and a pale, faded pattern. Many in the trade are still imported, so captive-bred animals are worth seeking out.

What to weigh
Meraukes are big and need room, humidity and UVB. Imports may carry parasites and be defensive until they settle.
