The detail
Meishans are a Chinese breed from the Lake Tai region, known for deep wrinkles, drooping ears and very large litters. They mature early and are calm, but grow slowly and put on fat, so they suit small farms more than commercial pork.
What to weigh
Meishans grow slowly and carry more fat than modern breeds. They are rare in the US, so breeding stock is limited and relatedness should be checked.
