The detail
A sturdy, naturally bobtailed breed from the Kuril Islands and Sakhalin, shaped by a cold, wild environment. Kurilians are hardy, clever hunters, gentle with their families and often fond of water.
What to weigh
Kurilians are rare outside Russia and Europe, and they mature slowly. Their hunting drive means small pets like birds and rodents are at risk.
