The detail
A hybrid dwarf is a cross between a Campbell's dwarf and a Winter White, and many pet dwarf hamsters are hybrids whether labeled or not. Hybrids can be healthy pets, but the cross carries a higher risk of diabetes and inherited problems.

What to weigh
Diabetes risk is higher than in either parent species, and hybrids should not be bred. Temperament and size are less predictable than in a pure line.
