The detail
A huacaya and suri cross is an alpaca bred from one parent of each fleece type. The fleece can come out like either parent or somewhere in between, so each cross is judged on the fleece it actually grows, not on its parents.
What to weigh
A mixed fleece may suit neither show class, and breeders debate crossing the types at all. As a pet or companion a cross needs the same company, shearing and heat care as any alpaca.
