The detail
The diamond python is the southernmost carpet python, from coastal New South Wales and far eastern Victoria, black with cream or yellow rosettes. It comes from a cool climate and is known as the hardest carpet python to keep well in captivity.
- Housing
- 4×2×3 ft, cool room
What to weigh
Diamonds do poorly in heat that other carpets handle, and many problems trace back to being kept too warm year-round. They suit keepers who can run a cool room and a winter cool-down.
