The detail
The carpet chameleon is a small Madagascar species, with females showing some of the brightest patterning of any chameleon. It is short-lived compared with a veiled or panther and is less often captive-bred, so sourcing matters.
- Housing
- Screen enclosure about 2×2×3 ft, live plants
What to weigh
A short natural lifespan means a carpet chameleon is a few-year commitment at most. Imported animals often arrive stressed and carrying parasites, which shortens that further.
