The detail
A French herding and guarding dog bred to move and protect large flocks across open plains, the Beauceron is powerful, intelligent and confident. It has distinctive double dewclaws on its hind legs and needs an experienced owner and daily work.
What to weigh
Beaucerons mature slowly, are protective and can be dominant with other dogs. They need hard daily exercise and consistent training.
