The detail
Magpie ducks were developed in Wales in the 1920s and have black and white pied markings. They are light, active foragers and strong layers of white eggs, and are now rare in the US, where only a few breeders keep them.
What to weigh
Magpies are rare, so breeding stock can be related. Show markings are hard to breed.
