The detail
Blue Slate turkeys are a heritage breed with ash-grey feathers, sometimes flecked with black. They are calm, mate naturally and forage well, and are kept for meat and for their unusual color.
What to weigh
Blue Slate color does not breed true, so poults can hatch in several shades. They grow slower than commercial birds.
