No. Pairings can produce slate, black and lighter poults.
What health checks should poults or adults have?
Ask for NPIP status, which for turkeys covers pullorum-typhoid, mycoplasma (MG, MS and MM) and avian influenza. Keep turkeys apart from chickens where you can, since chickens can carry blackhead, and quarantine new birds for 30 days.
Are Blue Slates good meat birds?
Yes, for a heritage turkey, though they grow slower than commercial breeds.
