Whiteout
African Fat-tailed Gecko · 0 live listings
Whiteout is a dominant or incomplete-dominant African fat-tailed gecko morph that washes out the bands, leaving a pale, faded look. It is visible in a single copy, which makes it a common building block for combos with recessive genes.

The tradeoffs, honestly
Whiteout expression varies, and some animals look close to a faded normal. Breeders describe its inheritance slightly differently, so ask what their pairings produced.
Common questions
How is whiteout inherited?
It shows with one copy. A whiteout paired to a normal is expected to produce about half whiteout babies. Whether two copies look different is described differently by breeders.
What does "whiteout het Oreo" mean?
The gecko shows whiteout and carries one hidden copy of the recessive Oreo gene. The het is unseen, so ask for parent records to back it.
What health test should I ask for?
Ask whether the colony has had a crypto test and a clear fecal. Crypto causes wasting in geckos and has no reliable cure. Check for a thick tail and clean shed.
