Is a Tibetan Terrier a good first dog?
Often, yes. TTs are affectionate, adaptable and a manageable size. Plan for regular grooming and early socialization.
What health problems do Tibetan Terriers have, and what should be tested?
Primary lens luxation, PRA, neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis, hip dysplasia and luxating kneecaps occur. Ask for OFA hips, a patella check, a recent eye exam and DNA results for PLL, NCL and PRA on both parents.
Are Tibetan Terriers hypoallergenic?
They shed little, which some allergy sufferers tolerate, but no dog is allergen-free. Meet the breed first.
