The snow iguana combines the albino and axanthic genes, both recessive, giving a mostly white animal. It needs two copies of each gene, so snows are rarer, but care and size are those of any green iguana.

Is it legal where I live?
Florida added green iguanas, every colour morph included, to its prohibited list in 2021, and Hawaii bars them along with most non-native reptiles. They are CITES Appendix II. Check your state and city rules first.
What makes a snow?
A snow is both albino and axanthic, with two copies of each recessive gene. Ask for parent photos and breeding records.
What health records should I ask for?
A hatch record, a weight log, and for an older animal a PIT tag and vet exam. Check for clear eyes and firm jaws.
