A snow hognose is a double recessive combo, albino and axanthic together, giving a pale snake of white, cream and soft pink with red eyes. Both parents must carry both genes, so snows are rarer in a clutch than either single morph.

Double recessive breeding is slow, and a snow bred to a normal gives only double hets. Care, lifespan and the mild rear-fanged venom are the same as any hognose.

How are snows produced?
A snow needs two albino and two axanthic genes. Two double hets paired together produce about one snow in sixteen on average; snow to snow gives all snows.
Why do the parent records matter so much?
Double het claims cannot be seen. A record of the pairing, with parent photos, is what shows a snow or a double het is what it is said to be.
What health records should come with it?
Ask for a clear fecal and a negative crypto PCR, plus a dated feeding log showing several meals on unscented frozen-thawed mice. A hatch record with the clutch date and both parents ties the snake to its genetics.
