Saxony ducks were developed in Germany in the 1930s and are a heavy, calm dual-purpose breed with blue, buff and cream plumage. They are good layers and foragers, and are now rare in the US.

Yes. They lay about 190 to 240 eggs a year.
What health checks should ducklings or adults have?
Ask whether the flock is NPIP-certified for pullorum-typhoid and avian influenza, which many states require for sales and shows. Look for clear eyes and nostrils, a clean vent and a steady walk, and quarantine new birds for 30 days before they meet your flock.
