Royal Palm turkeys were developed in Florida in the 1920s and are small, striking white turkeys with black edging. They are active, fly well and are kept mostly as ornamental birds rather than for meat.

What health checks should poults or adults have?
Ask for NPIP status, which for turkeys covers pullorum-typhoid, mycoplasma (MG, MS and MM) and avian influenza. Keep turkeys apart from chickens where you can, since chickens can carry blackhead, and quarantine new birds for 30 days.
Can Royal Palms fly?
Yes. They are good flyers and need covered runs or clipped wings.
