Is it legal where I live?
Florida added green iguanas, every colour morph included, to its prohibited list in 2021, and Hawaii bars them along with most non-native reptiles. They are CITES Appendix II. Check your state and city rules first.
Can diet make it redder?
Be wary of colour-enhancing feeding claims. A proper herbivore diet of leafy greens and vegetables comes first; colour depends mostly on the line and the animal.
What health records should I ask for?
A hatch record, a weight log, and for an older animal a PIT tag and vet exam. Check for firm jaws and straight limbs, since softness can signal metabolic bone disease.
