Pixiebobs are slow to mature and large for a cat. Extra toes need regular nail checks, as nails can grow into pads.

Common questions

Is a Pixiebob part bobcat?

No. Despite early claims, DNA studies found no bobcat ancestry. It is a domestic cat bred for a wild look, so hybrid laws do not apply.

What health checks should the parents have?

Ask for heart screening for HCM on the parents and a full vet exam of the kitten. Ask about any history of retained testicles or difficult births in the line.

Do extra toes cause problems?

Usually not, but check nails often. Nails on extra toes can curl into the paw pad if not trimmed.
