Often, yes. Papillons are friendly, adaptable and eager to learn. Give them daily exercise and training, and protect them from falls and rough handling.

What health problems do Papillons have, and what should be tested?

Luxating kneecaps, PRA, neuroaxonal dystrophy, dental disease and heart disease occur. Ask for a patella check, a recent eye exam, a cardiac exam and DNA results for PRA1 and NAD on both parents.

What is a Phalène?

The drop-eared variety of the Papillon. Phalènes and Papillons can appear in the same litter and are the same breed.
