Ask for a DNA result for rdAc progressive retinal atrophy on both parents and family history of amyloidosis or heart disease. Plan on lifelong dental care.
Does the long coat need a lot of grooming?
No. With no dense undercoat, a weekly comb is usually enough to keep it free of tangles.
Can it be left alone during the workday?
It struggles. Like other Siamese-family cats, it bonds closely and gets noisy or stressed when lonely. A second cat often helps.
