At a glance
The tradeoffs, honestly
A Nebelung is slow to trust and can be stressed by noise, visitors or change. The breed is rare, and it gains weight easily.
Common questions
What health checks should the parents have?
The breed is generally healthy. Ask for a full vet exam of the kitten, heart screening on the parents if offered, and a record of vaccinations. Watch weight as an adult.
Is a Nebelung good with children?
With calm, older children, yes. Nebelungs are gentle but shy, and loud, busy households can make them hide.
How is it different from a Russian Blue?
Coat length. The Nebelung has a semi-long, silky coat; the Russian Blue has a short, dense one. Temperament is similar.
