What health problems do Mini Americans have, and what should be tested?
Hip dysplasia, hereditary cataracts, CEA, PRA and MDR1 drug sensitivity are the main concerns. Ask for OFA hips, a recent eye exam and DNA results for MDR1, HSF4 cataract, CEA and prcd-PRA on both parents.
What is a double merle, and why does it matter?
Breeding two merle dogs together can produce puppies with deafness and eye defects. Responsible breeders never pair merle to merle, so ask about the colors of both parents.
