Is it legal where I live?
Florida added green iguanas, every colour morph included, to its prohibited list in 2021, and Hawaii bars them along with most non-native reptiles. They are CITES Appendix II. Check your state and city rules first.
What should it eat?
Mostly dark leafy greens with other vegetables. Iguanas are herbivores; animal protein and insects are not part of a healthy diet.
What health records should I ask for?
A hatch record showing captive breeding rather than farm-raised import, and a weight log. For an older animal, a PIT tag and vet exam. Check for firm jaws and straight limbs, since softness can signal metabolic bone disease.
