Why do localities matter?
Gray-bands from different areas look very different, from pale Blair's-type to dark alterna-type animals. Ask for the locality and parent photos if you plan to breed.
What if it will not eat mice?
Many hatchlings start on a mouse scented with lizard, and some take weeks. Buy one already eating unscented frozen-thawed mice if you want an easy start.
What should I ask for before buying?
Ask for a clear fecal and a negative crypto PCR, and a dated feeding log showing several meals on frozen-thawed mice. A hatch record with the parents and clutch date shows the snake is captive-bred.
