Gerbil · 0 live listings
Burmese gerbils are a darker pointed color: a rich sepia brown body with near-black points and dark eyes. Like Siamese, the look develops as the gerbil matures, and care is identical to any gerbil, pair and deep bedding included.

The tradeoffs, honestly
Babies can be hard to tell from other dark colors until the points develop. Care matches any gerbil.
Common questions
How is Burmese different from Siamese?
Both are pointed colors from the same gene family. Burmese is much darker overall, with a brown body, while Siamese is pale with darker points.
What health checks should a gerbil have?
Ask whether the line has a history of seizures: many gerbils have stress-triggered epilepsy, and some lines are more prone. Check the tail is whole (never lift a gerbil by it, as the skin can slip off), and ask for vet-confirmed sex and a litter record.
Are gerbils legal everywhere?
No. Gerbils are prohibited in California and Hawaii because escaped animals could establish wild populations. Rules vary, so check state and city law before you buy.
Ask the seller for these. Documents on Everybarn are on file for your own checks; we don't check them with the issuer.
