What should I check before buying?
Buy a kitten at least four months old and watch it walk, jump and use the litter box. Ask for a vet exam of the spine and back legs, and confirm the breeder does not pair two tailless cats.
Is a Cymric different from a Manx?
Only in coat length. Some registries list it as a separate breed, others as the longhaired Manx. Health risks and temperament are the same.
How much grooming does the coat need?
Comb two or three times a week, and more during shedding. The dense double coat mats behind the legs and on the belly if skipped.
