Parrotlets are tiny parrots from Central and South America, with the Pacific parrotlet the common pet. They carry a full-sized parrot personality in a 30-gram body, which makes them great in small homes and surprisingly bold.

One if you want a tame companion; a pair tends to bond to each other and lose interest in people.
What health checks should a parrotlet come with?
An avian vet exam and psittacosis, PBFD and polyomavirus tests if the breeder offers them. The bird should be weaned and holding weight.
Do parrotlets talk?
Some learn a few words in a small voice. Most keepers value them for personality rather than speech.
