What health problems do Cavaliers have, and what should be tested?
Mitral valve disease and syringomyelia are the major concerns; eye disease, hip dysplasia and loose kneecaps also occur. Ask for cardiologist heart exams, MRI screening for syringomyelia, a recent eye exam, OFA hips and patellas on both parents.
What is the difference between a Cavalier and a King Charles Spaniel?
The English Toy Spaniel (King Charles) has a flatter face and domed head; the Cavalier has a longer muzzle and flatter skull. They are separate breeds. Check which one a listing is.
