Ask for a PKD1 DNA result on both parents, as polycystic kidney disease comes from the Persian side. Ask about heart screening and any allergic skin disease in the line.

Is a Burmilla a good first cat?

Yes. They are gentle, friendly and easy to care for. They prefer homes where someone is around for part of the day.

Is the Burmilla widely available?
