Buff ducks, or Buff Orpington ducks, were developed in England by William Cook around 1900. They are calm, dual-purpose ducks with warm buff plumage, and lay well while providing good meat.

Yes. They lay about 150 to 220 eggs a year.
What health checks should ducklings or adults have?
Ask whether the flock is NPIP-certified for pullorum-typhoid and avian influenza, which many states require for sales and shows. Look for clear eyes and nostrils, a clean vent and a steady walk, and quarantine new birds for 30 days before they meet your flock.
Why do some Buff ducklings look different?
Buff color comes from a dilution gene, so some ducklings are lighter or darker.
