What health problems do Boykins have, and what should be tested?
Hip dysplasia is common, and eye disease, exercise-induced collapse and luxating kneecaps occur. Ask for OFA hips, elbows and patellas, a recent eye exam, and DNA results for EIC, CEA, DM and prcd-PRA on both parents.
Do Boykins like water?
Most love it. They were bred to retrieve from boats on South Carolina lakes and swamps. Dry the ears after swimming to help prevent infections.
