Are Balinese cats hypoallergenic?
No cat is. Some claim Balinese produce less allergen, but evidence is thin and it varies by cat. Spend time with the breed before buying if allergies are a concern.
What health tests should the parents have?
Ask for a DNA result for rdAc progressive retinal atrophy on both parents and any family history of amyloidosis. Plan on lifelong dental care.
Does the long coat mean lots of grooming?
No. With no dense undercoat, the coat rarely mats. A weekly comb is usually enough.
