The Everybarn Editorial Team is the group at Everybarn that writes and reviews this blog. Posts are credited to the team rather than to one person, and we never publish a quote, a review or a story from someone who does not exist.
How market reports are made
Every figure in a market report is computed from Everybarn marketplace data: asking prices, completed sales, new listings, saves and inquiries. Each figure shows the window it covers and how many listings or sales it rests on, and each report says the date its data is as of.
A figure is published only when it rests on enough data. When a breed, species or state has too few listings or sales for a figure, we leave that figure out rather than print a number that could mislead. Charts leave a gap for the same reason.
Figures are computed in code and printed exactly as computed. The sentences around them may be drafted with the help of an AI model, which is not allowed to write a number of its own; a check compares every number in a report with the data it was built from before the report can be published.
How guides are made
Guides start from a brief an editor writes: the points the guide should make. An AI model may draft the prose from that brief, and it may use only the points in it. Every guide is read, edited and approved by a person before it is published.
What we mean by verified
On Everybarn, a seller’s identity is verified before any of their listings goes live. Papers are different: they are the seller’s own documents, kept on file for buyers to review. We do not check them with the clinic, lab or registry that issued them, so we never describe them as verified.
Corrections
If you find a mistake in a post, tell us through the Help center and we will correct it and update the post’s date.
