Buyer question
Is a Rosella parrot good for beginners?
Usually not: our Animal Library rates the Rosella parrot 2 out of 5 for beginners (aviary bird, not a lapbird).

The detail
Rosellas are brightly colored broad-tailed parakeets from Australia, kept mainly as aviary birds. They are beautiful and hardy but can be aggressive toward other birds and are rarely as cuddly as a cockatiel.

What to weigh
Rosellas need space to fly and should usually be kept one pair per aviary. They can kill smaller birds and are nippy if handled.
