The detail

A short-legged breed created by crossing the Munchkin with Persian-family cats, with a round face and short or long coat. Minuets are gentle and playful, but their short legs come from a gene that affects bone growth.

Temperament
Gentle, playful, social
Best fit
Calm homes, informed buyers
Energy
3 out of 5 (Playful, low jumper)
Grooming load
3 out of 5 (More for longhairs)

What to weigh

The short-leg gene is a form of dwarfism and may raise the risk of joint and spine problems. Persian ancestry adds kidney disease risk. Many registries decline to recognize the breed.
