Buyer question
Is a Leucistic good for beginners?
Usually not: our Animal Library rates the Leucistic 2 out of 5 for beginners (demanding for a first pet).

The detail
A leucistic sugar glider is pure white with dark, black eyes, produced by a recessive gene that removes pigment from the fur but not the eyes. It is not an albino, and it needs the same diet, companion and nighttime routine as any glider.
- Best fit
- Night owls who can keep a pair
- Handling
- 3 out of 5 (Bonds with time, may nip)
- Care load
- 5 out of 5 (Nightly fresh diet prep)
What to weigh
White fur shows staining from food and scent glands, so cage hygiene shows more. Leucistic is recessive, so breeding plans depend on carrier (het) claims you cannot see.
