The detail
Kakarikis are small, fast parakeets from New Zealand that spend a lot of time on the ground scratching like chickens. They are curious, extremely active and fun to watch, but restless if confined.

What to weigh
Kakarikis need room to run and fly, and are escape artists. They are not particularly cuddly and can be short-lived compared with larger parrots.
